Every Street United Episode 5 Review

"Players Skype, Final Farewells"

Episode

It seems that with this fifth episode of Every Street United we are finally set up for the players to head over to Rio. With three episodes left it will be interesting to see how they spread out the practicing that was teased for next week, the player selections and of course the big game they have been training for. It was great to see a wider variety of players this time around as it really did cover a tad bit of everyone. The skype calls each of them made were great as some had some interesting conversations and or funny ones whereas others were just blank towards each other. I also really enjoyed seeing the rest of the players and the conditions of which they play their games. You can really learn a lot about the living situations and how much they dedicate to the sport. In the countries they featured today it looked like the sport was the main focus of their lives and those around them as well. The farewells shown were also great as it was a notable send off for further episodes that should be filled with much more adrenaline.

The Conclusion

Solid episode this week that really marks a transition period within the series as we shift to Rio towards the final match. This is of course the overall goal of the series and it's great to see how all these hopefuls respond to the amazing opportunity. There was smaller focus on matches this week, but the ones shown were good anyways. The focus on players meeting over the internet before real life also added a good dynamic with their responses to each other. Next week should be a good one with practises featuring the star athletes and what looked like the start selections for the teams.
